The goal of Talent Search and Upward Bound is to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education and to help these students progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postsecondary degree attainment.
RU Talent Search 2 & Upward Bound 3 Programs are federally funded college access programs that are designed to identify and provide services for eligible students to gain entry and complete postsecondary educational programs.
For over 20 years, the RU Talent Search 2 & Upward Bound 3 Programs programs have been providing academic assistance to targeted students in hopes of making college possible for the population we serve. We offer comprehensive services that will aid in the preparation and selection of a postsecondary institution of the student’s choice.
According to the data from the National Student Data Clearinghouse for our most recent cohort, our programs have maintained an average of an 87% college enrollment rate and a 58% postsecondary graduation rate, which is 3 times the local and national rate for students who start college immediately after graduating from high school.
